Print Screen in HP, Acer laptops

Technology October 1st, 2008

Over the weekend, one of my friends asked how to capture the screen or how to use the ‘print screen‘ key on her HP laptop. On most computers including laptops, one would just press the key ‘PrtSc’.

Print Screen in HP laptops is different though. There is a key next to ‘win key’ called ‘Fn’. Print Screen key should be pressed in combination with that to capture the screen.

Notice how the Fn key has a border. Similarly Print Screen has a border too. If you look further, you will see there are other keys which has a border too. Basically to activate those keys with borders, you have to hold down Fn key. On Acer laptops, Fn key is in light blue. However Print Screen on Acer laptops doesn’t require you to hold down Fn key.
